April Showers Bring May Flowers. Here’s hoping that we get a few showers and warm weather to melt all this snow and help those flowers come sooner than later!

Easter Egg Decorating and Egg Hunt sponsored by The New Glasgow Family Resource Centre will be held on Saturday April 19^th from 2-4pm at The New Glasgow Christian Church. This event is for children 12 and under. Each child should bring 6 hardboiled white eggs to decorate and a snack to share.

The Community of New Glasgow Annual General Meeting  will be held on Thursday April 24^h at 7pm at the New Glasgow Fire Dept. We encourage all residents and local businesses to attend. If there is anything you would like added to the agenda please email ngcc@gmail.com.

The Annual New Glasgow Women’s Institute’s Coffee with a Flair is scheduled for Saturday April 26^th at New Glasgow Lobster Suppers from 9:30- 11am. Food, Fashion, 50/50 draw, Door Prizes and Silent Auction. Tickets are $10. For tickets or information please contact Jacquie Laird 964-2641

 New Glasgow Parks Spring Clean up  will be happening in May- date and time TBA. Afterwards all involved are welcome to join in a light lunch provided by the Board Members. Please bring your gardening tools, and anything that might come in handy. We will meet at the Park across from the Christian Church and break up from there. Many hands make light work!

Lloyd Ross Benefit will be held at The Cymbria Lions Hall on Friday May 2^nd at 7pm.  There will be a silent auction, live auction and donations at the door. All proceeds will be given to the Ross family.

In November Lloyd Ross of the Stead Rd in Wheatley River became entangled in a power tack off shaft on a grain auger while working on another farmer’s farm. As a result Lloyd sustained very severe life changing injuries. He was immediately transferred by air to QE2 Hospital in Halifax. He is still there recuperating after a series of operations but rehabilitation and recovery are slow.
